“Push yourself. No one is going to do it for you“
Everyone has their weaknesses. For me, it’s running. “Don’t run unless chased” has pretty much been my motto for as long as I can remember. I enjoy doing sprints but never really understood the point of long distance running…
But as much as I hate running, I hate being bad at it even more. I’m someone that wants to be good at everything (obviously not possible but it can’t hurt to try!). As I’ve mentioned before, a lot of my motivation in the gym comes from the rush and love for what I’m doing… So when it comes to running I need to find other ways to motivate myself.
There are only 2 places I “enjoy” running: On the beach in Margate & Kelly Drive in Philly.
Every time in down the shore I make sure I have my running gear. Wake up early and get out while the world is still sleeping. With this scene I think it’s actually impossible to hate running. It gives me time to reflect and also think about the day ahead..
I have a goal to run a half marathon by next year. Why? Better question is why not? I know my weaknesses.. but I don’t let that stop me. Ultimately you’re not going to love every workout, it’s not always going to be fun… but these are the times that you need to figure out what motivates you and push past your comfort zone. No one else is going to do if for you!
