I’m going to preface this post by saying that I am guilty of this ALL the time.
Comparing yourself to others is second nature for many of us. So much time is spent every single day trying to look or dress or act like the people we admire. Don’t get me wrong its great to have a goal and its even better to have a vision for what you want your future to look like.. but at the end of the day, you can’t measure your own success through the success of others. You are on your OWN journey.. not the journey of the girl you’re following on Instagram.
For example, yesterday I posted a video of me trying to do pull-ups. Well..safe to say I am god awful at them. And YES I was a little discouraged after my attempts. I had the mindset “well if so-and-so can do these, why can’t I?”
Well.. I can. It just might take me a little longer.
I gave myself a bit of a reality check last night and was looking back on some old pictures. It was only then that I realized how far I really have come.
Okay okay so I can’t do 3 wide grip pull-ups in a row right now… so what. One day I will be able to do 20 without a sweat. I promise.
Yes I have a long way to go, but I’m A LOT closer than where I came from.
